Cave Shine – “Memory Serves”

Today, I’m very excited to share this one, you guys. Cave Shine is a dream pop and shoegaze band from Charlotte. They build their tracks around 1980s textures and a modern feel, putting together guitars and wide soundscapes. After finishing this one, I also checked their previous album “Stare”, and I was impressed.

Their new project is a self-released EP titled Memory Serves, put out with Blank Verse Records, I love that the songs focus on ideas of memory, longing, and transformation, staying in that spot between loss and hope. There is a solid balance of melody and movement here, because the band takes layered arrangements and pairs them with reflective lyrics, giving the release a big mood where catharsis and reflection sit side by side.

It builds on what they started with past tracks like “Silence After the Rain,” “June,” and “Stare,” showing how their music moves forward. The tracks bring real emotional depth without feeling overdone.
