Sweet Mess – “The Warning”

Sweet Mess is an original hard rock outfit out of Phoenix, Arizona that evolved from a successful local tribute act into a heavy-hitting original band. They have kept up a relentless pace throughout 2026, and their fifth single of the year, “The Warning”, takes their sound in a dark, psychological direction.

The band features lead vocalist Sylvie, guitarist Fer Lopez, bassist Rob Watson, and drummer Michael Hayes. They recorded this track at Mind’s Eye Digital Studio in Glendale with producer Larry Elyea, who captured a raw, gritty sound and a heavy rhythm section. The song tackles the quiet voice of human intuition, questioning whether people actually pay attention when something inside tells them to watch out. Lyrics touch on facing an unknown consequence and hearing a warning before it becomes a regret. The name itself is a quick nod to Mexican rock group The Warning, who the band looks up to alongside hard rockers like Halestorm and The Pretty Reckless.

Sweet Mess has built up their live credentials by playing high-voltage shows alongside acts like Great White, Missing Persons, Love/Hate, and Stryper. They are also heading out to play Tijuana Rock Bar with Royal Witches and The Trifecta Experiment on September 19th.

“The Warning” is coming out on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services this August. Be sure to follow Sweet Mess on Instagram at @sweetmessrocks, check out their YouTube channel, or visit sweetmessrocks.com to catch their future releases and live dates this year.
