OpCritical – “Liar Liar”

OpCritical released “Liar Liar”, their fifth single and music video of this year. The band formed earlier this year specifically to tackle major social issues, and this release targets oligarchs who gather immense wealth and power through manipulation while ignoring the needs of everyday people.

The track channels the raw energy of punk and rock to urge people toward civic action and peaceful protest. It builds around a heavy refrain, “Liar Liar world’s on fire, everywhere’s a funeral pyre, Liar Liar world’s on fire, you’re gonna get what you desire”, which acts as a karmic warning to corrupt leaders and a wake-up call for everyone else.

Accompanying the song is a clever music video featuring LEGO characters. The visual choices deliver the message effectively, showing citizens bombarded by media screens reading “FEAR” and “FAKE” before standing up in protest.
