Sutlej – “Tell Me You Care”
I am genuinely excited about Sutlej. They are a new three piece alternative rock band out of London made up of Lewis Maddison, George Power, and George Butcher, and they are putting together a sound that hits all the right notes for me. You can hear heavy nods to nineties grunge and emo mixed with modern post punk. If you like Deftones, Wunderhorse, or Sunny Day Real Estate, this is going to be right up your alley, but they are doing it with an identity that belongs entirely to them.
Their new single “Tell Me You Care” is out right now. It follows their debut single “Let Me Out” which was released in February. That first track was produced by Alex Mountford from the band Dead!, and it gave us a tense, emotional introduction that dealt with frustration, personal freedom, and trying to find clarity when things feel totally boxed in.
This new single “Tell Me You Care” builds on that groundwork beautifully. I absolutely love this release. There is an honest, unpolished human energy to it that grabs you immediately. It sounds like three real musicians in a room playing their hearts out, rather than something manufactured. The emotion is completely raw, giving it a familiar warmth without sounding derivative.
You should definitely check out their debut to hear how they started. After that, make sure to follow Sutlej on their socials to stay updated on what they are doing next. They have a run of five more singles lined up across the rest of 2026 and heading into 2027, creating a steady stream of new music. They are right at the start of their journey to becoming one of the best new rock trios in the UK, so following them now lets you see them grow over the year.
