Hey Gorgeous – “Rocker on a Club Run”

Montreal indie rock outfit Hey Gorgeous has an interesting single from the project’s debut album International Breakthroughs. The track, titled Rocker on a Club Run, was put together by Montreal multidisciplinary artist Peet Massé. It completely turns expectations upside down by throwing indie rock and house music culture into the exact same room.

The song captures a restless night out in the city. You get a massive dose of raw guitar energy mixed directly with electronic textures. It highlights that exact headspace of drifting between different crowds and trying to find a balance between two completely distinct musical worlds. The song has a rough, experimental edge that keeps it grounded, avoiding polished pop formulas. It sounds like someone trying to figure out their identity in real time, balancing a love for rock with the pull of the dance floor.
