Zach Outman – “Carpe DMs”
Zach Outman’s “Carpe DMs” is a country/pop track that has something to say and knows how to say it. Dating songs are everywhere right now, but most of them either play it safe or go too hard on the heartbreak angle. Instant gratification, bailing before it gets painful, chasing the next distraction. He’s not lecturing about it, he’s just observing, and the writing is sharp enough that it stings a little. I really appreciate his unique writing style.
The production is clean and the track starts slow, almost understated, then builds into a hip-hop beat that you genuinely don’t see coming from a country artist. The guitar harmonic riff in the chorus is the kind of detail that keeps a song in your head long after you’ve moved on to something else. He’s mixing influences in a way that reads as natural rather than calculated, and that’s harder to pull off than it sounds.
The hooks are catchy without being cheap, and this is the kind of song that works on a long drive and works just as well when you’re only half paying attention. This is one of his strongest moments yet, and I keep coming back to that chorus more than I expected to.
If you haven’t heard Zach before, this is a solid place to start. Go back through his earlier releases too, there’s real depth there worth your time. Follow Zach Outman on his socials to keep up with everything he’s putting out for the rest of 2026. He’s got momentum right now and it’ll be worth watching.
