Jemily Rime – “Phantom Feels”

Jemily Rime put together an EP that will make you want to play it again and again. It has a moody, intimate sound, but it never gets stuck in its own sadness. Whatever really won me over and it has this calm, accepting energy that could have come off distant, but it lands as honest and oddly comforting. The writing gives it a grounded kind of strength, and the arrangement has enough detail to keep pulling your ear back in. It sounds thoughtful without ever getting too polished or stiff.

Drown is probably my favorite. It is vulnerable, gentle, and quietly strong all at once. The jazz-touched harmony gives it a soft lift, and the song handles heavy ideas in a way that still feels approachable. I liked how it turns uncertainty into something almost reassuring. Kinda Liked It, I Don’t Think About You, and Angel, help make the EP feel complete. They all fit together into one clear mood and gives the record a strong sense of character. Knowing Jemily handled the writing, production, mixing, and mastering says a lot about how personal this project is.

My personal opinion is that this is a really strong EP with a lot of heart and a clear point of view. Check out Jemily Rime’s previous releases too, because they add even more context to this one. Follow her and keep up with what comes next.
