Aleutians – “Osiris”

Aleutians are a DIY band from New Brighton on the Wirral, and “Osiris” is the first song off their upcoming EP, What could become of us. It’s one of those tracks that feels familiar in a good way, like it could’ve been playing during some random memory from years ago that you didn’t realise stuck with you.

The band clearly leans into that old VHS vibe they mention, and it really works, and there’s this comfortable, kind of faded atmosphere to it. Not retro for the sake of it, but more like they’re drawing from stuff they’ve actually lived with. “Osiris” makes you fall in love with the band’s music from the first second, and it’s my favorite band of the week.

There’s a quiet confidence in how they put it together. Nothing feels forced. It’s the kind of song that might not jump out at you right away, but it sticks around after. If “Osiris” is where they’re starting, I’m curious to hear where they go next. Aleutians is worth following on social media so you don’t miss the rest of the EP when it comes out in 2025.
