Re:O – “Crimson Desire”

Re:O is back with their ninth single, “Crimson Desire”, and this one hits differently in a really good way. If you’ve followed their previous work, you’ll probably notice right away that this track takes a harder turn into metal. The synths are still there, but this time they’re not front and center, the spotlight’s on the heavy guitar riffs and bass that punch through with a chaotic, gritty kind of energy.

What really grabbed me is how the music and the emotion behind it are totally in sync, there’s this aggressive, frustrated edge to it, but it doesn’t sound like someone losing control. It’s more like someone who’s very aware of their ambition and how far they’re willing to go, even if it means burning out to get there, that push and pull is where the song really stands out.
