Pegasuses – “Magic Beans”

“Magic Beans” by Pegasuses is one of the best tracks I’ve heard this month so far. The song moves slowly and deliberately, like it knows you’re listening closely. Laura Lamb’s voice leads the way, soft but clear, like she’s telling a story that’s been sitting in the back of her head for a while. It’s not dramatic or flashy, but it still hits you.

The guitar work has this dusty, old-photo kind of feel, like a road trip soundtrack with no destination. Synths float in and out, and the percussion doesn’t get in the way. It all just folds together in a way that feels completely intentional. There’s this constant tug between chance and choice in the lyrics that makes you start thinking about all the strange timing in your own life. Pegasuses doesn’t try to solve anything, but they hold that weird feeling up to the light and let you sit with it.

If “Magic Beans” is any hint at what their full album will sound like, it’s definitely worth sticking around. Follow Pegasuses on social media to stay up to date with their upcoming releases in 2025.
