7Sven – “But Live It”
7Sven’s new album But Live It brings together old-school grooves and personal reflection in a way that feels honest, and the idea behind it is simple, life isn’t short, we’re just not always present. That message comes through clearly across the record without being heavy-handed.
“Anorexic Mind” stood out for me. It has this uneasy piano line and layered guitar parts that make it feel like you’re stuck in your head, about to make a big decision but not quite ready. “Routine” hits harder. It’s more direct and taps into the feeling of trying to stay grounded when everything around you keeps shifting, and then the title track slows things down and asks a few straight-up questions that are kind of hard to ignore, like how you’d spend your time if today was it.
The whole album has a lived-in sound. You can hear the influence of older artists, but it never feels like it’s copying anything. It sounds like its own thing, with a message that’s easy to connect with.
