Zachary Mason – “Madness Gladness”

I’m totally blown away by Zachary Mason’s latest release “Madness Gladness”. This single has quite a history behind it, having been recorded three times since its 2021 inception before finally being polished up in early 2025. The patience paid off beautifully. Zachary builds a rich soundscape soaked in reverb that immerses you in a romantic daydream from the first notes. It’s one of the best tracks I heard in the last couple of weeks, and our close readers know how much I love Zachary’s work.
The lyrics describe the two-sided nature of love – how it brings chaos and joy to the mind – in a poetic yet relatable manner. The musical prowess on display is breathtaking, with Little Big Town’s John Thomasson laying down some incredible bass lines and Nate Barnes delivering some standout drum work. Derrick Lin’s Hong Kong mixing and mastering skills provide the final touches.
I sincerely believe that “Madness Gladness” is a promising step in Zachary Mason’s musical career as he keeps experimenting with genres while staying true to his songwriting voice, and you should definitely follow him on social media to stay updated about his releases on the rest of 2025.
