XRL-7 – “Antipop Star”

From the moment you hit play, “Antipop Star” by X-RL7 grabs you and sticks in your head, the track was recorded, mixed, mastered, and probably even polished with a laser beam. X-RL7 and AL1CE have produced a dark, aggressive track that combines synths, guitar, and the powerful voice of Natasha Cox into something that is at once both defiant and catchy. If you like The Birthday Massacre or IAMX, this track will add energy to your playlist.  

The song hits hard, and it’s got that cinematic vibe that makes you want to blast it while driving through the city at midnight, and this is exactly what I did when I discovered it, and you should do it as well. The lyrics are unique, the rhythms are heavy, and it’s one of the best tracks I’ve heard in the last couple of months. Also, it’s safe to say that AL1CE adds a raw, alt-rock edge that takes “Antipop Star” to another level.
