The Tragics – “Oh Sunny Day (Where Have You Gone)”

The Tragics are back with their second single, “Oh Sunny Day (Where Have You Gone)”, and it’s a solid follow-up to their debut. If you heard “Juliet (Not Her Romeo)” earlier this year, you’ll recognize that same mix of heartbreak and throwback charm, but this one leans more into the warm, psychedelic side of things. You can stream “Juliet (Not Her Romeo)” here.
What’s cool is how much they’ve done with so little, just a MacBook, a P Bass, and a Strat, all tracked in a spare room. That DIY approach somehow makes the song feel even more authentic. The vibe is pure ‘60s sunshine pop, with jangly guitars, stunning and rich vocals, and it’s safe to say it’s one of the best songs I’ve discovered this month so far. You can tell they were chasing that retro sound on purpose, and they nailed it without it feeling like a gimmick.
The lyrics are the best part of the song, they are clever and rich, comparing a lost relationship to the weather turning gloomy. It’s simple but hits the right emotional note, melancholy but not too heavy. The Tragics clearly know the lane they want to be in, and they’re carving it out well. Keep an eye on them and follow them on social media to stay updated on new releases in the rest of 2025.
