Noctæra is a French indie artist who clearly doesn’t follow a formula, and her first album, “Legacy of Marble”, proves it. After spending over a year crafting this release, she’s come out with something that feels personal and bold without trying too hard. It’s not easy to blend French and English across an album and still make it sound natural, but she pulls it off smoothly here.

What really stands out is how varied the tracks are, some of them, like “Kept Me Bound”, are super intentional and built around a strong idea. “Trouble Ballade” or “Pas le bruit du vent”, feel more instinctive, like she just followed the vibe of the music, that mix of planning and spontaneity gives the album a nice balance. If I had to pick a favorite, it’s “Kept Me Bound”, and it’s safe to say it’s one of the most talented artists I covered in the last couple of months.

She’s clearly not afraid to experiment with different sounds, sometimes dipping into medieval or electronic territory, and that keeps the album feeling fresh, definitely follow Noctæra on socials to keep up with what’s next in 2025.
