Joe Hodgson – “Fields Of Redemption”

Joe Hodgson’s “Fields Of Redemption” is wonderful, and right out of the gate, this album makes it clear that Hodgson isn’t interested in playing it safe. He’s drawing from rock, blues, jazz, and Irish traditional music, not just referencing them, but bending them into something that feels personal and unfiltered.

Tracks like “The Grass Is Greener” and “Shapeshifting” are my favorite. “Stick or Twist” leans into playful unpredictability, while “Since You Had A Hold On Me” brings in Glen Harkin for a feature that breaks up the instrumental flow in just the right way.

The artwork is incredible, the artist and his guitar, standing among ancient stones under a wide Irish sky. It says plenty without needing to explain itself. Follow Joe Hodgson on social media to keep up with more releases dropping through the rest of 2025.
