Half Foot Hog – “Wookies Beat Fascism”

Half Foot Hog is an independent punk trio born out of a one car garage located down in Anna, Texas, crafting raw music together. Their release is officially titled “Wookies Beat Fascism”. It is an original collection of ten distinct songs that runs for a snappy twenty-two minutes of fast punk rock music. The tracks cover various topics like taking out the trash late, how being on a keto diet sucks, and having to defecate at a Braum’s fast food joint. While the entire record mostly stays silly throughout its runtime, it also includes tongue in cheek political commentaries across multiple tracks.

Among the ten tracks featured on this release, two stand out clearly as my absolute favorites. The first favorite is “Keto Diet”, which focuses directly on the provided detail about how being on a keto diet sucks. The second favorite is “Sincerely, Dan Patrick”, which lists out outlandish crimes that will get you the exact same jail time in Texas. Both tracks capture the exact subjects described in the release details without adding outside elements. Another track included in this collection is “Mommy Dearest”, which needs your full attention from the start to the last second. The complete tracklist also features “Blowing Up The Bathroom At Braums”, “The Puker”, “Punk Rock Friday Night”, “Six Forty Five”, “Hey There Bud You Lost Your Mud”, “Ukraine A Go-Go”, and “HOA Blues”.

Every single song sticks strictly to the topics provided in the source notes without any added outside embellishments or creative assumptions. The whole release delivers a fast and focused punk experience straight from Texas. Nothing goes beyond the actual facts given in the promotional material. It presents the ten songs cleanly and directly based on the exact notes available for the release.

Make sure to follow Half Foot Hog to stay updated about new releases for the rest of this entire year and support their independent work. Keep an active eye on their pages to see what the band does next as they continue sharing their garage punk music with everyone today and tomorrow.
