Friday Project – “Nine Lives”

Friday Project’s debut album Nine Lives comes from three teenagers in Oakville, Canada who’ve been playing together since Grade 8. Jack Galloway, Aidan Girardo, and Noah King are now 17, and they’ve put out nine tracks that don’t all sound the same. The album bounces between different rock styles. “Capitola Coast” is pop-rock, “Kick Me” is punk, and “Something, Anything” goes alt-rock.

They wrote these songs at 15, and you can hear where they’re coming from—Blink-182’s energy, Nirvana’s harder sound, and some Dominic Fike influence. Producer Geoff Hlibka recorded everything at Jack’s house, and it turned out well. “Capitola Coast” has pulled over 40,000 streams on Spotify already, so people are listening.

The band has around 7,700 Instagram followers and racked up more than 3 million views. They played the album release show at Monaghan’s Sports Bar on November 29th with over 200 people expected. If rock music with some variety is your thing, give this a listen. Follow Friday Project on social media to see where they go from here in 2025.
