Eshan Agarwal – “Strangers Again”

Eshan Agarwal is a New York-based singer-songwriter, and Strangers Again is his debut full-length album. Twelve tracks, one continuous story about a relationship from start to finish. That’s the whole premise, and honestly, it works. When you press the play button, you can actually feel the arc moving, and the album  starts with that early spark, the type of excitement that makes everything feel possible, and by the end you’re watching two people become strangers to each other again.

A couple of tracks stand out, “Turning Pages” and “The Siren” both dig into the idea of patterns repeating in relationships, the same mistakes, the same pull toward someone even when you know better. “That One’s On Me” and “Last Hour” are my favorites. When you finish listening to the album, you will know how talented Eshan is.

His background is interesting too. Growing up in Scarsdale, writing music since he was five, drawing from classic rock, jazz, R&B, and musical theatre. You can hear how those influences mix without any one of them taking over. And his synesthesia, where sounds register as colors for him, shapes how he builds a song. It’s not a gimmick. It’s just part of how he hears things.

If you’re not already following him, now’s a good time. Find him on Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and his website to keep up with whatever he does next.
