DrewJam – “Friends with a Fool”

I stumbled across a real gem this week with DrewJam’s latest release, “Friends with a Fool”, and I’m honestly still vibing to it days later. This North Hertfordshire artist has pulled together something pretty special here: an upbeat pop-rock track that packs a serious emotional punch beneath its catchy exterior.

The production is largely self-done, which makes the polished result even more impressive. There’s this killer blend of acoustic and electric guitar work that shifts and evolves throughout the track, punctuated by these genuinely soaring guitar solos that wouldn’t sound out of place on a classic rock record. The instrumental backing is rich too, with atmospheric organ and piano parts creating a full, immersive sound. What really sells this track though is how DrewJam explores those complicated feelings we’ve all had watching friends make choices we think are wrong. The vocal delivery hits that sweet spot between passionate and controlled, and you can really feel the wistful concern coming through in the lyrics.

If you dig thoughtful pop-rock with proper guitar work and genuine emotional depth, give “Friends with a Fool” a listen. And definitely follow DrewJam on social media to keep up with future releases, this is an artist worth watching.
