Desert Man – “Love Kills”

Desert Man’s latest “Love Kills”, is an album that feels like finding the perfect music to listen to for the weekend. The title track hits you right away with its analog warmth and desert-baked attitude. Desert Man’s voice floats over psychedelic guitars with the kind of effortless cool that makes you want to drive nowhere fast.

“Penelope” brings out the restless energy of someone who’s been everywhere but still hasn’t found what they’re looking for and it’s just an impressive track it’s my favorite of the album. The track bounces between indie rock urgency and philosophical calm, It’s the kind of song that you can listen to during a long afternoon drive.

Then there’s “Desire Lines,” which sounds like Neil Young decided to make a song for people who grew up on ’90s alternative radio. The production is clean, drums and guitars recorded live, one take, no fancy tricks, it’s just honest music made by someone who clearly knows their way around a studio but isn’t afraid to let things breathe. The album is unique because Desert Man has created something that feels both personal and universal, perfect for anyone who likes indie rock with a side of desert mysticism.

Keep your eyes on Desert Man’s socials – something tells me this California dreaming is just getting started, and you won’t want to miss whatever comes next from this Swedish desert wanderer.
