BirdWorld – “NURTURE”

BirdWorld is a duo based between London and Oslo, made up of Gregor Riddell and Adam Teixeira. Their new album “Nurture”, out on Dugnad Rec, is their first full-length since 2019’s “UNDA”. This one picks up where they left off but feels more dialed in, like they’ve grown more confident in how they shape their sound.

There’s a calm, open feel to the album, you get a mix of cello, hand percussion, kalimbas, and electronics. Some tracks pull you in with hypnotic patterns, while others are more layered and textured. “Coroico” and “Let Sleeping Babies Lie” both stand out early on. One has a steady rhythm that keeps it moving, while the other is more patient and spacey. “Opposite Hinges”, with violinist Sara Övinge, adds a really nice shift in tone.

My favorite track is “Til Liv”, it’s the one I kept going back to. It’s got this slightly emotional pull without trying too hard, and the way everything comes together just works.

The album was recorded in Norway with Øyvind Røsrud and features a few guests, but everything feels tight and consistent, follow BirdWorld on social media to keep up with their releases for the rest of 2025.
