BC25 – “Blue Thread”

BC25 is a duo from Freiburg made up of Vela Sorell and Barbonus, and their new single “Blue Thread” really stuck with me. It’s part of their EP “Unearthed”, which started from a pretty emotional place. They found a batch of old recordings from a late friend and brought them back to life. What I like about this track is how stripped-down and personal it feels. There’s nothing overproduced or flashy going on. Just warm acoustic guitar and vocals that feel like they’re being sung right next to you.
The way they recorded it is worth mentioning too. It was all done in a home studio with a super minimal approach. The guitar sounds natural, and Vela’s voice carries this quiet emotional pull without ever trying too hard. It’s subtle, but it hits. “Blue Thread” isn’t loud about its message, but it lingers. It’s reflective in a way that feels real, kind of like sitting with a memory you’re not ready to let go of yet. It’s safe to say BC25 is one of the best duos I’ve written about on Beach House.
If you’re into music that’s thoughtful and doesn’t try to over-explain itself, give BC25 a listen. And follow them on socials to stay in the loop for more music coming later in 2025.
