Horse Driver – “Horse Driver”

Horse Driver is a psych-rock project based out of Richmond, Virginia, and they put out an expanded physical edition of their self-titled debut , and the cover artwork catches your eye right away, showing two dark horses resting against each other beneath a bright burst of blue thistle flowers, split down the middle by a sharp orange bar.

There are nine tracks on the release, and “Silver Tongue” and “After Dark” quickly became my two absolute favorites from the entire list. “Silver Tongue” runs for just over three minutes, and “After Dark” wraps up the whole release at around the same length, leaving a strong impression at the very end of the record.

The album started as a digital release, gathering a loyal following through hypnotic rhythms and immersive soundscapes over time. This updated physical pressing polishes up the clarity and deepens the audio textures, giving the music a lot more impact when you spin it on your stereo. Make sure to follow Horse Driver on social media platforms so you can stay updated on all of their new music and upcoming plans for this year, because they have a lot more coming.
