Fiona Amaka – “Sometimes forever”
The folk-rock song “Sometimes forever” was recorded in London. It explores a light and philosophical view of how an intense romance can reach a natural end over time, and many people heard portions of the music at live shows and on social media platforms prior to this official release. The response from audiences was extremely positive, which made sharing the studio version a very welcome step for everyone who wanted to hear the final mix.
Andy Zanini produced the track and played session guitar. His slide guitar work does a lot of the heavy lifting and tells much of the story across the melodies. Kate Proudlove managed the vocal recording session and contributed as a producer and vocalist too. It’s safe to say that it’s the best track I heard today.
Hearing the studio track after seeing how much people enjoyed the live performances is very satisfying. The overall approach keeps things simple and honest, letting the core instruments and vocals stand out clearly without adding unnecessary studio tricks that might get in the way of the writing.
