Alex Comaish – “Damp Streets”

Alex Comaish has released his second EP, Damp Streets, and it brings a fantastic slice of indie rock energy that feels made for summer festivals. Drawing inspiration from folk and alternative rock, the Gloucestershire-born, London-based singer-songwriter packs this four-track release with pop melodies, melodic guitars, and swaying drums.

The title track takes an honest look at trying to keep a doomed relationship alive when two lovers live on completely different schedules, one working as a night owl while the other works a typical 9-5. The song brings plenty of self-awareness and pokes a bit of fun at the usual cliches about love.

Beyond the main single, the release includes Crazy Lately, Remembrance Sunday, and The Cliches Are Adept. Comaish wrote these tracks during a period where he felt lost and exhausted, but playing them live gave him a fresh sense of direction. That grounded feeling comes through in the music, making the whole effort easy to relate to.
