Ornnala – “Au diable”

Ever since I spent 6 months in Paris, I have had a massive soft spot for French music. There is an honesty in the storytelling there that you do not always find elsewhere, and the new single “Au diable” by Ornnala shows exactly why that style works.

The track focuses on women who keep households running, the ones handling daily chores, care, and family needs in quiet isolation. Ornnala paints a picture of a woman disappearing into the background of her own life under the constant pressure of a domestic routine. It zeroes in on the invisible mental strain people carry without a word. Eventually, the woman decides she has had enough, finds a new wave of internal power, and chooses to set down that heavy burden to live for herself.

Ornnala handles the subject beautifully. She spent years studying classical singing at the conservatory alongside songwriting, so her vocals have a striking, grounded presence. She blends orchestral French pop with traditional chanson, giving the piece a vibrant texture. It creates a genuine space where people can listen and find a shared memory. It is intimate and moving.

I absolutely love this release, and it has stayed on my mind since my first listen. She is an incredible artist who brings real heart to pop, so please go follow her on Instagram and TikTok to keep up with everything she does. Supporting independent voices like hers is important, and following her updates is the best way to make sure you do not miss any new music she shares during the rest of this year. She has a wonderful way of connecting with her audience, and watching her creative journey unfold over the next few months is going to be great.
