PASCAL BOYER – “Run away”

Pascal Boyer released “Run Away”, and it’s a solid return to metal after all those years he spent making electronic music. He grew up listening to heavy stuff, then went in a completely different direction for over a decade, and now he’s come full circle with this five-track EP, and honestly, it’s pretty damn good.

The guitar riffs on “Run Away” are crushing, they’ve got that aggressive edge you’d expect, but Pascal clearly knows how to structure a song. It’s not just mindless heaviness, and you can pick up on some Tool and Black Sabbath vibes here, but he’s doing his own thing with it. The guy taught himself guitar and bass without any formal lessons, which makes this even more impressive when you actually hear what he’s pulling off.

The song builds momentum in a way that keeps you engaged. It’s heavy, sure, but it’s got dynamic range. Some parts hit harder than others, and that contrast works really well. If you’re already into bands like Night Verses or you just like metal that has some substance behind the aggression, give this a listen.

Pascal spent years bouncing between genres, and now he’s bringing all that experience back to where he started. The EP is out now, and it’s worth checking out. Follow Pascal Boyer on social media if you want to stay in the loop about what he’s releasing next in 2025.
