Myra Keyes – “Foam”

Myra Keyes made “Foam” while recording a batch of songs with friends in a home studio in Portland. It was supposed to be a rough demo project, but things shifted once they realized how strong the early tracks were.

She wrote most of it during her sophomore year of college, which she described as a mix of regrets, late nights, and long subway rides. That kind of headspace definitely shaped the writing. It came from those weird, in-between moments when you’re too busy to even think straight but still trying to figure yourself out.

The song was inspired by Djo’s “On and On,” especially the drums. You can tell she was itching to try something a little off-center. It’s cool to hear how that influence came through without taking over. And to be honest, I love how natural the whole thing feels. No big production tricks. Just ideas that came together in a relaxed setting with people she trusted.

If you’re into hearing what she’s working on next, follow Myra Keyes on social media so you can stay updated on new releases coming later in 2025.
