Giant Killers – “The Boy Who Went Delulu and Other Stories”

Giant Killers are back with a new EP titled “The Boy Who Went Delulu and Other Stories”, and it’s a solid listen. It’s only four tracks, but each one brings something different to the table. The band leans into the more complicated side of love, jealousy, obsession, unrealistic hopes, all wrapped in catchy, thoughtful pop. Giant Killers are one of the best bands I’ve covered on Beach House.

My personal favorite is “Soho Story”, there’s something about the way it captures a messy, almost cinematic kind of romance that just sticks with you. It doesn’t feel over-polished or forced. It just works. The title track plays off internet slang to take a look at fantasy turning into something darker, while “Standing on a Ledge Again” stays in that emotional space too. Then they switch gears with “Hope Our Love Lives”, which is way more hopeful. That one features Gibbo on vocals, and he brings a lot of charm to it.

The whole EP feels like a natural step forward for the band, they’re just writing what they want to write, and it lands. If you’re curious about what they’ve got coming next, follow them on social media to stay updated on new releases coming later in 2025.
